Really? I love LLMs because I can't stand the process of taking the model in my brain and putting it in a file. Flow State is so hard for me to hit these days.

So now I spec it out, feed it to an LLM, and monitor it while having a cup of tea. If it goes off the rails (it usually does) I redirect it. Way better than banging it out by hand.

It's only going to get harder to achieve if you keep letting your skills and resoning abilities rot from LLM reliance.

Uh if you worked for a top company or something. Most tech workers have made relatively ordinary salaries the last 20 years.

This usage is probably older than you're thinking: some 80s and 90s hip hop songs used "out of pocket" like that.

Lol. Granny paid for the tarrif then the refund was sold by an elite to an elite for 20 cents on the dollar.

Everyone wins except granny.

To be fair, I think some companies didn't raise prices because they thought they would be overturned.

We have no idea if its a good solution or not. It depends upon, among other things: how long it takes to update it, the error rate, and how acceptable those errors are.

It's kinda like clearing the table by throwing everything in the trash.

Yeah because that works out really well in history!

We're just stuck in the non-diverged timeline that's fucked.

Which misses the point. If the point is to reduce the number of taxes, having the federal government collect 10 different types of taxes instead of state governments collecting 7 types of taxes won't change all the different taxes we have.

There is no singular place we can change how many different taxes you pay. There's... thousands? Tens of thousands? Once you factor in city, county, state, federal, special districts, etc.

What if the AI produces writing that better accomplishes my goal than writing it myself? Why do you feel differently about these two acts?

For what it's worth, the unifying idea behind both is basically a "hazing ritual", or more neutrally phrased, skin in the game. It takes time and energy to look at things people produce. You should spend time and energy making sure I'm not looking at a pile of shit. Doesn't matter if it's a website or prose.

Obviously some people don't. And that's why the signal to noise ratio is becoming shit very quickly.

It doesn't, is the problem. If it did, I would feel differently.
