UI is not great.

First time I used it, it was a bit confusing, as I didn't really know what to expect. Is it email? Live chat? A forum?

Turns out, it's a bit of both, and trying to use it as any single one of them, will probably make it harder to use.

Basically, I treat it as a live chat where it's easier to participate in different topics at the same time, Slack on steroids where everything is a "Thread" basically.

Sounds similar to Flowdock model? I greatly preferred that and was so disappointed when Slack finally rolled out their version of threading. It felt almost useless in comparison.

Alas, Flowdock is dead now and I've learned to embrace Slack as the better remaining alternative over Teams or Google Chat.

That’s what the grandparent comment said, what specifically do you find wrong with the UI? I for one really enjoy it and the keyboard shortcuts.

I think it's better than slacks sidebar threaded reply. It also has better code blocks, less irritating pop up magic and no bots nagging you to fill in credentials all the time.

Same experience with the X1 Yoga. Power board issue. It took 6 weeks for them to finally tell me they couldn't fix it. They just refunded me, which was nice.

Anyone know of a way to bookmark the tree structure in TST?

TST itself does not have that feature, but there are FF addons that extend TST (https://github.com/piroor/treestyletab#addons-extend-tst).

"Bookmark Tree" looks like what you want: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/bookmark-tree.... Give that a shot.

Right clicking on a tab, I have an item `Tree Style Tab → Bookmark this tree…`. I use Firefox Nightly; this may be a Nightly feature, I don’t know.

It saves the tabs but it doesn't keep the hierarchy. I will try Nightly. Thanks!

Ah, it’s specifically the hierarchy you’re asking about. No, it doesn’t seem to save that.

I just installed and it says it needs extra permissions for that to work, so that might be the problem, that you didn't check the box on the "just installed" page to enable the permissions?

Agreed! I've looked for alternatives but they all miss the mark. I was considering building my own but haven't found the time.

If it's a pdf it could be a bug in Adobe Reader that allows the hackers to spread a virus

This reminds me of the freakanomics episode: Parent's don't matter (http://freakonomics.com/2011/06/15/how-much-do-parents-reall...)

Didn't listen to the podcast, but if the thesis is borrowed from Judith Rich Harris[0], then the GP's claim is still valid. To wit, parents' parenting practices have limited impact on their children (vs. peers and genetics) but their success and income do (via genetics and the influence of wealth over peer environment).

Last I checked I thought we were more closely related to primates not monkeys--not sure if that's of any significance.

Monkeys are primates.

Oh, let's see if I can remember the main groupings...

Primates ->

> Lower Primates ->

> > Tarsiers

> > Aye-Ayes

> > Lorises

> Lemurs & Red Pandas

> Simians ->

> > New World Monkeys

> > Old World Monkeys

> Hominoids ->

> > Gibbons & Siamangs

> > Great Apes ->

> > > Orangutans

> > > Gorillas

> > > Chimpanzees ->

> > > > Chimpanzee

> > > > Bonobo

> > > > Humans

Wiki has humans and chimpanzees/bonobos in different subtribes, so humans wouldn't be under "Chimpanzees ->":

  Tribe Hominini
   Subtribe Panina
    Genus Pan
     Chimpanzee (common chimpanzee), Pan troglodytes
      Central chimpanzee, Pan troglodytes troglodytes
      Western chimpanzee, Pan troglodytes verus
      Nigeria-Cameroon chimpanzee, Pan troglodytes ellioti
      Eastern chimpanzee, Pan troglodytes schweinfurthii
     Bonobo (pygmy chimpanzee), Pan paniscus
   Subtribe Hominina
    Genus Homo
     Human, Homo sapiens
      Anatomically modern human, Homo sapiens sapiens

Yeah, it's not the mainstream classification but it's been proposed (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Third_Chimpanzee) and I find it entertaining. So. ;)

I particularly like Pans Narrans as a classification.

Though I suspect that Pans Superbia might be unfortunately closer to the mark.

Apes, I think you mean; both apes and monkeys are primates.

is the link dead?

It doesn't seem to be. Are you running into an error?

I just use evernote.

what about people who already wear glass? I guess I will still need to get contacts to use them

They have a version called EnChroma Cx Receptor that is meant to fit over your glasses. I found out about these today thanks to this post and plan to order a pair.
