After initially bouncing off of Factorio and then having a lot of fun with shapez, I tried Factorio again and got totally addicted for a while. Shapez is a perfect entry point and is different enough to be worthwhile for its own sake. I also just love the chill nature of Shapez, it's a lot less stressful than Factorio since there are no senemies and resources don't run out. I have high hopes for Shapez 2, which, from the dev logs, looks great and will hopefully have some extra QOL stuff to eliminate some of the original's minor annoyances.
That’s been one of the strategies to help me cope with my ADD: turning my most visited services into standalone apps, and forbid to open links outside the domain in those apps.
I use Fluid in Mac, although IIRC there was a non trivial way to create them using Firefox.
Oh, definitely! We're learning that siblings love playing Tappity together. Well, at least one plays while the others watch :) So, having it on the big screen will really help, plus it'll be easier for parents who like to keep an eye on things as well!
Yup. In our case, tablets are forbidden on weekdays, but we allow them to use the appletv because we can control what they are doing/watching. I’ll be happy to pay a lifetime membership once it’s released there.
BoS 2012? I was there and that presentation changed my way on how to (re)think about users interactions with products. I don’t exaggerate if I say that the ROI of attending that event (if only for her session) has been well over 1000x
Yes! I feel the same way re: ROI of that talk. I consistently say it was worth the entire price of admission. There were some other really good speakers that year, but she was incredible.
Apart from those, I’d suggest to take a look to Integromat. Their “http module” (a UI for a curl-like service) is really handy when you want to interact with a 3rd party service that hasn’t been integrated yet.
Agreed, we've been using Clubhouse for the past few months and it really hits the sweet spot. Not as complicated as Jira but more features than Trello.
