I assume you mean proportional–integral–derivative control. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PID_controller

Which aren't? It seems all (or most) are.

Yeah, it's "newest" in the URL but labelled "new" in the menu.

Almost the only time when I check "newest" is after I submitted something myself, since then I am redirected there. But then I do read and upvote what I find interesting there (in a way diluting the score of my own submission). I really should look there more often.

Mine is usually when I fat-finger the logo on mobile and accidentally press it. Then I read 2-3 entries before realising what's happened

Not quite (but maybe differs per bank?). You get a notification a few days before the first debit takes place, and you have the right to request the debit be annulled for at least a month after it happens.

I've never seen an address needed for a cc charge, although sometimes a zip code is needed.

Absolutely, no one would have batted an eyelid.

Some people, like me, have developed this communication style because it turned out that when they didn't they were very often misunderstood. When properly applied (i.e., not excessively, no actual walls of text), giving appropriate context helps focus the thinking of the receiver in the right direction.

...but yeah, every now and then I do get comments that I'm very wordy.

3. Yeah, the previous system we used was just too cheap and efficient. Credit cards are still not common.

4. We're indeed a bit later than elsewhere, but there are many now.

When using the web interface some banks still offer the physical reader (which I prefer), but the banks are pushing hard to move to the phone app.
