I don’t think anyone but US people got confused by those headlines. Makes sense though. When there are two places with identical names, you hear more often about the one closest to you, so that’d be your first assumption.
"lowest score" would be self explanatory. "Best score" still made me think I was doing better with a higher score
on the other hand, it might be better to change the scoring system. Calculate the worst score using the current system. Then reverse so the score goes up as in displayScore = worstScore - oldWayOfCalculatingScore
Yes, it’s an even larger format than traditional 70mm. The cells are physically larger. Anecdote: Nolan worked with Kodak to invent black & white IMAX film for Oppenheimer.
This diagram is so weird to me. Bottom part is simple and neat, while the top half just goes crazy. My puny brain desperately wants this world to be understandable and elegantly designed, but apparently atomic structure has a different idea.
All the noise is just details. The chart is basically three parts:
1: Blue is all the pressures and temperatures where water is solid.
2: Green is all the pressures and temperatures where water is liquid.
3: Yellowish red is all the pressures and temperatures where water is vapour.
I'm not sure what to make of the points and little lines. They seem to have something to do with the ranges within those ranges where the different kinds of ice occur.
Or maybe it's the developer who needs to fix his editor. Proper editor should convert tabs into spaces or vise versa and not create complications for everyone else.
At one point I was working at a printing shop. One time I was testing color calibration, running the same sheet through the printer multiple times, and these dots became visible clearly.
It was quite a head scratchier, we actually thought there's something wrong with our printer until I googled about these yellow dots.
I like to think it's matter of readability. "if (pureNumber)" vs. "if (i % 3 != 0 && i % 5 != 0)". Also, one extra variable vs. reversal of already mentioned condition. Yes, we're splitting hair here :)
Yes, it's optimized for running multiple websites simultaneously. All tabs are visible and running, but whatever you click on becomes the "active" tab, which helps with resources. Also, non-visible tabs aren't rendered by your video card.
We didn't base this designed on any previous ideas. There have been some other attempts to solve similar problems (tile tabs, etc) but nothing that we felt quite "hit it."
