Using Instagram only for DMs just means you shouldn't be using it.

I don't make the choice of how individuals in my social circle uses to communicate. Giving up being in contact with some of my friends/acquaintances is too bad a trade-off.

Unfortunately not really an option in a lot of business. There's a ton of services where Instagram is both your portfolio and an important first point of contact.

I made a similar app, it’s called “Only DMs” free on the app store :)

I predict that almost no existing WordPress installs will be ported to this

Having to compile makes it a pain in the ass to develop with vs php. No existing WordPress dev would ever willingly make that choice

On the harness side there's a huge amount of optimisation room to go as well.

I strongly think smaller models will end up being able to do most coding tasks in the future, once they are reigned in properly

Real life is not chess, and inaction is a valid move for the Chinese. Look up Wu Wei 'action without action'

I don't believe comments like this. Sure it did work for ten hours but if you didn't review it you will sooner or later when it breaks. And it will. I run the agents all day and that's what happens - they do stuff that is unwanted but that you aren't aware of.

As a Linux user Apples' vision seems pretty clear - do whatever makes buckets of money.

Anyone who questions their vision is simply opening up to the reality that just maybe, Apple doesn't actually care about them.

Making money is what companies are for. The rest are non-profits.

I think I'd probably say that the problem with Windows is it's made and maintained by people who own macbooks.

I am convinced that nobody at Microslop uses any of their products.

I've only been using free tokens for a year now. Gemini and they just dropped pro so I switched to minimax. Bit of a hurdle switching from Gemini-cli to kilo-cli, but now I can't really see too much difference.

If I was starting new projects I'd pay for a better model, but honestly I don't really know any different.

I've not ever used Claude and people seem to rave about it. Maybe its good, but I doubt its $200/month good.

When I hit issues with these lower models I think hard about creating the right tooling - agnostic to the harness and I feel like maybe its more work but I can carry those tools to any setup going forward. That's how it was in the early Linux days so why change what clearly works?

I've used Gemini and now claude. Both were meh until I found the superpowers skill. Will be trying chatgpt next month.

You can "feel" the llm being limited with Gemini, less so with Claude. Hopefully even less so with chatgpt

This app isn't very useful but it did get me thinking.

I have a phone in a drawer I could install termux and ollama on over tailscale and then I'd have an always on llm for super light tasks.

I do really long for a private chat bot but I simply don't have access to the hardware required. Sadly I think it's going to be years to get there..
