Seems there are by several orders of magnitude more birds killed by cats than wind turbines.

Birds killed by x in the US annually [1]:

- wind turbines: < 570k

- Domestic and feral cats: > 210m

They have no comparable numbers for bats, but it seams the industry is working on active counter measures.
