hello HN, after months of beta testing we're excited to launch acreom for mobile!
We are building acreom to be the markdown knowledge base with tasks you will enjoy using as a developer.
Here are some key principles which make acreom different from other .md editors and note taking tools.
At the core of acreom lies its capture-first organise-later interface, allowing you to capture ideas, tasks and issues as well as access your knowledge base quickly. The mobile apps went through 24 iterations in beta to inherit this experience.
Secondly, our goal with acreom is to integrate markdown with tasks really well to make organising and tracking your development work easier. You can use it to capture tech knowledge base, create projects, break down large engineering tasks and track progress.
These interactions are now supported on mobile while you are on the go.
acreom started as a web app side project developed by a few friends. Last year we shipped an electron desktop app to make acreom local-first which we wanted for ourselves. Electron often gets bad rap for it's performance though we have put a considerable amount of effort to make the app fast, responsive and lean especially on large vaults. It turned out to be a great decision for us and allowed us ship faster.
The mobile apps take acreom one step closer to being a local-first software with sync and collaboration.
The mobile apps together with sync and desktop apps are free and acreom is interoperable with other plain text .md editors which makes
it easy to try it out. No account is required and there's no lock-in.
