Will a Macbook Pro Retina 13" be able to drive this?


According to Apple's website, the latest version of the rMBP will be able to drive a 3840 x 2160 display at 30Hz via HDMI.


30Hz sounds like a 'No' to me.


Why? It's not like you're going to play graphically intensive games with it. 30Hz sounds just fine for many types of content, like text (and even videos).

It'll drive it @ 30Hz via HDMI as is today. The hardware also supports 60Hz via DisplayPort 1.2 through the thunderbolt ports and I've heard it works in windows but I don't believe Mavericks has driver support yet.
